Position: Accountant
We are looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team in Tanzania to help keep our finance operations running smoothly!
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
About the Role.
As an Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting local finance operations, working closely with our
Cluster Financial Accountant. You shall oversee a lean finance team, ensure compliance with company policies, and contribute to seamless financial processes. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in a fast-paced environment while making a real impact.
What You will Do
- Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Maintain up-to-date vendor and customer account records.
- Reconcile vendor invoices with supplier statements for accuracy.
- Support local audits and act as a liaison with statutory authorities.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and
journal entries. - Manage petty cash and maintain accurate financial records.
- Lead and mentor a lean finance team, fostering growth and alignment with company goals.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safeguard sensitive financial data.
- Perform administrative tasks to keep the finance department running efficiently.
What We Are Looking For.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Membership in a relevant professional body.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, accounting standards, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A team player with strong leadership abilities and a solid work ethic.
- High attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Integrity and the ability to handle confidential information with care.
Experience with audits and mentoring a team is a big plus.
